Leading independent city Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, Thompson Jenner LLP, has made a two-year deal to support the Exeter Initiative for Science and Technology (ExIST), joining a group of prestigious organisations that fund the group’s work to support the growth of Exeter’s science and technology sector.

Jon Westley, partner at Thompson Jenner LLP, said: “We are delighted to support ExIST and the group’s aim to help businesses and organisations with science and technology at their heart to grow and flourish in Exeter.  This is an important sector for us and we are looking forward to playing an active part in the group and involving some of our own technology sector clients as our partnership develops.”

Thompson Jenner work with entrepreneurs, new business start-ups, growing and established businesses as well as those looking to sell their business and plan for exit. They provide a range of audit, accounting, business support and tax services and have a specialist tax team advising and supporting regional businesses with claiming for Research and Development (R&D) tax reliefs which allow businesses to offset R&D costs by reducing their corporation tax bill or obtaining cash rebates.

Their technology clients span the spectrum from software developers and engineering designers to creative design agencies and nutritional drink producers.

Robert McIlwraith, chair of ExIST said: “We are proud Thompson Jenner has chosen to sponsor ExIST.  Without our sponsors it would be impossible to run our quarterly events and produce Insight, Exeter’s own publication dedicated to science and technology, and we are grateful to all our sponsors for their continued support.”

ExIST is a sub-group of Exeter Chamber of Commerce.
