    Aviation Skills Partnership (ASP) is an organisation dedicated to making the aviation industry accessible to all. Amy has worked within ASP for the past 4 years – and is excited to now be developing the South West region working with existing partners and creating new links to grow the Aviation Skills Partnership pathways, provision, and inspiring aviators in the South West. Amy’s extensive experience in Aviation includes working at Exeter International Airport, Flybe, Flybe Training Academy and at the start of her career with British Airways CitiExpress.

Following a successful career in telecommunications which took him from Devon to Germany, he returned back to Devon seeking a position with a progressive IT company which he found in Nexus. He’s passionate about the local digital ecosystem and anything STEM related, an influence which rubs off on his two young daughters. Originally from North Yorkshire, Chris loves life in the South west taking full advantage of all it has to offer including surfing, tennis, beer festivals and underwater hockey….

    Chris is an experienced management and organisational consultant with a talent for helping businesses grow. With 25 years experience across public and private sector, an MBA (distinction) from Warwick Business School, and an expertise in lean process improvement, he also has exceptional networks across the South West. An associate for a number of organisations including Cardiff Business School, OEE and FE Associates, Chris is a longstanding Director of Exeter Chamber and is the chair of the Exeter Sustainable Business Network. He is also currently working as a registered coach with Growth Accelerator, helping ambitious businesses grow. He moved to the South West in 2005 and has active interests in education and sustainability and is a passionate supporter of the Exeter Chiefs.

    Clodagh Murphy became chairperson of Exeter Chamber's subgroup ExIST (Exeter Initiative for Science & Technology) in February 2019. Clodagh has a technology background, as managing director of Eclipse Internet for eight years and more recently working as chief operating officer at IT and Cloud service provider Timico Technology Services in the Midlands.

A large part of his career has been devoted to leadership of large operations, maintenance and engineering organisations. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

    A graduate in Mathematics and Operational Research, Dave's early career was as an Air Traffic Management Scientist with the Civil Aviation Authority, specialising in airport and airspace simulations; before moving into research management and business development in the area of Communications, Navigation and Surveillance systems with National Air Traffic Services. Since 1998 Dave has worked for the Met Office, firstly as Head of Civil Aviation Business, then Group Head of Public Sector Business, then through to 2013 as Deputy Director Technology & Information Services responsible for delivery of all Operational IT Services and delivery of technologically based business solutions, to time, cost and specification. Since 2014 Dave has led delivery of the Governments landmark investment in Met Office HPC implementing and exploiting, at their HQ in Exeter, the world’s largest High Performance Computing facility dedicated to Weather and Climate Operations and Science. The Met Office is the UK's National Meteorological Service Provider “ recognised as a global leader in providing weather and climate services to Government and Commerce

Centrax Gas Turbines manufactures industrial power generation equipment ranging from 3.9 MW to 64.0 MW based on Rolls-Royce 501, RB211 and Trent 60 gas turbines as well as Siemens 300 and 400 turbines. The prime application is for power generation / cogeneration in a wide range of industries.

    John Earp, Nuclear Consultant

    A Fellow of both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Nuclear Institute John’s career has enabled him to accumulate more than 38 years in the Nuclear sector. He began as a mechanical apprentice with the CEGB in 1964 and progressed to the role of Generation Manager with British Energy from which he “retired” in 2001. During this time he undertook various engineering, technical and managerial roles associated with AGR and Magnox stations enabling him to gain a detailed knowledge of the UK Nuclear Site Licence and its application to nuclear power stations. This period also included extensive engagement with nuclear safety committees involving both the preparation of papers and their presentation. A broad knowledge of technology and management of PWR and BWR reactors was gained whilst representing British Energy working with INPO in the USA.

He works with businesses of all sizes and specialises in assisting with R & D tax relief advice, setting up reliable accounting and management systems, accessing routes to funding and providing a range of audit, accounting, business and personal tax planning services. Jon has particular experience in the technology sector where he has helped many young businesses grow and achieve their objectives. This includes helping his clients to maximise the value from their business. He became a partner in 2008 and works at the firm’s Exeter office.

    Jon joined swcomms as its new commercial director in 2015 bringing with him 13 years of senior direct management and boardroom experience within established blue chip businesses and SMEs. The father-of-two has worked across manufacturing, consulting and service sectors within a number of senior positions including managing, commercial and projects director roles, most recently within the environmental service industry. Originally from East Sussex, Jon now enjoys all the South West has to offer including paddle surfing. A self-confessed competitive sportsman, this former football club manager enjoys a wide range of sports in spare time.

He balances responsibility for individual projects and clients with winning new work, office management plus has specific responsibility for the health and food sectors across the firm. Karl is currently the Interim Chair of ExIST.

    Kathryn White, Environmental Futures & Big Data Impact Lab

    Kathryn White is Innovation Manager at the Environmental Futures & Big Data Impact Lab, where she works to match local SMEs with the skills and resources available within the university and across the programme partnership. The Impact Lab is a regional development programme funded by ERDF and consists of seven partners: University of Exeter, Met Office, Rothamsted Research, Plymouth University, Plymouth College of Art, Exeter City Futures and Plymouth Marine Laboratory. The Lab supports SMEs to develop innovative new products, services or processes which exploit Big Data technology and have a positive impact on our environmental future.

Lisa and her team provide PR, marketing, digital marketing and event management services to ExIST, as well as writing and editing Insight, ExIST’s bespoke publication focusing on the science and technology business community.

    Maureen has a computer science background and joined Exeter City Council’s Economic Development team in 1999. Over the last 19 years she has worked on attracting numerous science and technology companies to relocate to Exeter a well as helping Exeter employers to grow and prosper. Despite having spent a lot of her life living overseas in exotic locations such as Colombia, Maureen has always found herself drawn back to Exeter and is passionate about the city she now calls home.

    Neil joined the University in 2010, having previously worked as project manager for the Manchester Centre for Integrative Systems Biology. Past roles include New Product Introduction, Research and Development and Operations management. Neil has worked for various sized enterprises from large multinationals to SMEs, including a spell as a director of a technology spin-out. His experience spans a number of sectors including materials science, surface coatings and analysis, optoelectronics / telecommunications, sensor systems and biosciences. He has an Honours degree in Polymer Science and Technology, and a PhD in Physical Chemistry.

She has capitalised on her strong international network to rapidly grow BioSystems Technology Ltd into the leading global supplier of G. mellonella, increasingly forging strong partnerships with EU and UK CROs. She has published over twenty research papers (which collectively have over 1000 citations), six book chapters and filed two patents. She has an extensive industry network, strong technical credentials and is increasingly recognised as a pioneering female CEO/entrepreneur.

    Rex Rozario O.B.E. the founder of Graphic was a protege of Dr Paul Eisler working with him at Technograph-Telegraph, the UK's first PCB Manufacturer in the 1950's and subsequently branching out on his own in 1968 to launch Graphic in Devon. Rex Rozario O.B.E. is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, the Institute of Directors, the Institute of Circuit Technologists, the Institute of Sales and Marketing and Chairman of the European Institute of Printed Circuits. Rex is also a Board Member of Intellect (UK), IPC (USA), CBI (South West), the Science and Industry Council and Governor of Exeter College. He is Deputy Director General of the World Electronic Circuits Council. Rex was also pleased to be awarded an OBE in the Queen's New Year's Honours List in 2001 for his contribution to the electronics industry.

He is also the Chair of the Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust, an expert panel member of the Education and Training Foundation, an honorary member of the City & Guilds London Institute and a director at Exeter City Football Club’s Charitable Trust. In addition he Chairs the Greater Exeter Sports Strategy Board.

He is currently on the board of Exeter Science Park, Chair of the Exeter Initiative for Science and Technology (ExIST) and Chair of the Trustees of the AmSafe Bridport pension scheme. Robert also teaches Management at INTO University of Exeter.

    Rosie is the Skills Officer at Exeter City Council, responsible for developing and implementing the Skills Strategy for the city. Rosie has a background in economic development and tourism; developing and managing a wide range of projects and programmes, particularly with a focus on the employment and skills agenda. Through her role at the city council, Rosie is particularly committed to ensuring that young people are well informed about the opportunities available to them in the local area.
