Sidmouth Science Festival Returns: 5-13 October

Sidmouth Science Festival is set to return for the 8th time in October running from Saturday 5th until Sunday 13th with events for all ages and all abilities encouraging people to learn, explore and think about the STEM subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths through serious technical events and hands-on activities as well as through art, music, and drama.

Our family programme is central to our activities aiming to inform, educate and inspire young people and encourage them not only to think about the world around them but consider STEM subjects as a career. Science shows and hands-on activities are key and are easily accessible.  Schools in the Sid Valley and East Devon benefit from workshops and talks to compliment their studies.

Talks range from Bio-Archaeology to Sports Science, Climate Change, Apollo 11, Well-being and Big Data. Jet car racing is back once more as is the drone race. And during the Festival we celebrate Ada Lovelace Day, Earth Science Week and Biology Week.

Super Science Saturday has plenty for families to do all day ranging from the Met Office’s weather forecasting to finding fossils.

There’s plenty to do at the Festival and most of it is free!
